Hello!
I am a retired higher education IT executive who now studies philosophy. My research interest is the philosophy of retirement, with a particular focus on issues at the late-career threshold to retirement.
I recently completed the Masters in Epistemology, Ethics, and Mind program at the University of Edinburgh, school of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences. My dissertation explored the ethical question of what it means for a late-career individual to know they have "had enough", considered through a lens of meaningfulness. It can be found on PhilPapers here.
I am currently working on a number of other essays relevant to issues in late career and the transition to retirement, including shifts in perspectives of caring in late career, the nature of buyout incentive packages offered to late-career individuals, and the ill-formed shape of "cliff-edge" retirements.
I also hold a doctor of management in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix, a Masters in computer science from WPI, and a bachelors of mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross. This seemingly varied educational background is united through my interest in and study of philosophy and an emphasis on mentoring throughout my management career.
Other interests include gardening, yoga, golf, nature walks, and time with family and friends.
